Job Profile

The company (Dormakaba Canada) is looking to hire a Toolmaker who will be responsible for setting and punching hinges, locks, tabs, etc. for Company specifications and Customer expectations.

Educational Qualification

• Applicants should have a High School Diploma

Work Experience

• Possess a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing setting (preferred)
• Previous brake or stamping punch press experience (preferred)

Duties/Responsibilities

• Examining material prior to cutting and bending.
• Load and unload machines in an efficient and productive manner.
• Locating and marking reference points on the workpiece with appropriate tools; positions or aligning workpieces against stops and guides or with dies.
• Maintains a clean workstation and cleans-up production areas as required.
• Performs all other tasks and duties as assigned by supervisor or lead.
• Reading job orders to determine product specifications such as punch locations, dimensions, angles, and tooling instructions.
• Setting up and operating multiple machines & equipment such as the brake press and punch press.
• Start or operate presses and welders, monitor their operations, and record operational data.
• Uphold all safety standards applicable to the responsibilities above.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions
• Basic knowledge and understanding of metal fabrication (preferred)
• Basic math skills (required)
• Bilingual
• General Computer Skills
• Proven measurement and mathematical fraction/decimal conversion skills
