Job Profile

The company is seeking a Welder who will use hand-welding or flame-cutting equipment to weld or join metal components or fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal products.

Educational Qualification

  • Applicants require a High School Diploma or Equivalent

Work Experience

  • Possess 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or military environment with demonstrated ability to work with limited guidance.
  • Experience with MIG and TIG processes
  • Prior welding experience with stainless steel (highly preferred)

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Clamp, hold, tack-weld, manipulate, grind or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding.
  • Cleans and maintains job site, tools, etc.
  • Consistently follows workplace safety procedures.
  • Demonstrates ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Detect faulty operation of equipment or defective materials and notify supervisors.
  • Examine work pieces for defects and measure with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance and specifications.
  • Monitor the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of the material.
  • Read blueprints for use in welding and fabrication.
  • Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade including; TIG and gas metal arc welding equipment.
  • Reliable attendance is critical.
  • Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • A successful weld test is required as part of the candidate screening process.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to produce consistent, quality welds.
  • Ability to read blueprints with knowledge of welding symbols.
  • Ability to stand, bend, stoop, squat, or kneel regularly as well as climb stairs/ladders.
  • Ability to work successfully in a team environment.
  • Familiar with roll forming/press break operations.
  • Good vision, hearing, smell, and balance.
  • Knowledge of metallurgy and understanding of joint geometry is preferred.
