Job Profile

The company is seeking a Welder who will (under guidance and supervision) carry out a variety of heliarc and spot welding and assembly operations that are utilized in the fabrication of most company products.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Assembles a variety of products, clamps securely to a bench, and performs welding operations. Carries out welding operations required to produce tight seams that will pass customer/company inspection.
• Ensures that various subsections are compatible with one another and meet all specifications.
• Maintains work area and equipment in a safe, clean, and orderly condition.
• Makes most determinations necessary for the performance of welding operations including the number of passes and the adjustment of welding machines needed to ensure that leak test and other customers/company specifications are achieved.
• Plans, lays out, and performs a variety of heliarc and spot welding operations to ensure the most efficient use of time and materials.
• Prepares for increased responsibility by receiving training on more advanced welding techniques.
• Selects pre-marked formed pieces available to fabricate welded assemblies to specifications, using aluminum and stainless steel.
• Visually inspects parts and subassemblies for freedom from defects; suggests appropriate actions to correct defects.
• With some directions, plans the sequence of welding operations so that component parts are welded in proper order.
• Working from engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions, performing the necessary heliarc and spot welding operations to complete assigned tasks.
• Performs other related duties as directed.
