Job Profile
The company is seeking a Welder who will be responsible for welding and fabricating various heavy equipment and machinery components, skids, piping, mounts, and brackets for power units in the new product area.
Responsible for planning and fitting welding wear packages on buckets, and troubleshooting mechanical problems with associated equipment.
Educational Qualification
- Applicants should have a Welding Technician Certification, certified with Canadian Welders Bureau
Work Experience
- Possess 1 to 2 years of relevant work experience
Duties/Responsibilities
- Cleans and performs minor repairs on welding equipment
- Comply with the Health and Safety program and practices
- Comply with Wajax policies and procedures
- Fabricates brackets, mounts, and piping
- Hydraulic and mechanical experience an asset
- Maintain all required certifications
- Meet requirements of Job Hazard assessments
- Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment
- Participate in all required Health and Safety Training
- Perform welding repairs on equipment as necessary
- Performance of daily duties in a manner conducive to a safe workplace
- Read and understand production drawings, blueprints, work orders, and other written instructions
- Weld and fabricate a variety of heavy equipment (e.g., cranes and forklifts) and machinery components
- Welds and repairs customer units as required
- Welds power unit skids. Assists technicians with the assembly of power units
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to fabricate without drawings
- Additional certifications (Forklift Operator and Crane/Rigging)
- Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office
- Mechanically inclined
