Job Profile
The company is seeking a Welder who will be responsible for quality welding while taking into account the job and material-related conditions.
Educational Qualification
- Applicants should have a High School Degree or Equivalent (preferred)
- ASME Certification (a plus)
Work Experience
- Possess 2+ years or more of quality full-time previous MIG and TIG welding experience (preferred)
Duties/Responsibilities
- Fabricates pre-formed parts with or without welding fixtures following the required sequence to construct sub-assemblies and assemblies.
- Keeps work area, tools, and equipment in an orderly manner.
- Maintains accurate daily time showing production and time worked on each order in the MRP system.
- Manually or with a hoist, positions parts and sub-assemblies in and out of welding fixtures.
- Overtime may be required on an as-needed basis.
- Prepares work area, sets up welding fixtures, selects specified welding materials, and makes settings on welding equipment as regards amperage and voltage, pressures and amount of speed, and feed of rolls.
- Receives and interprets blueprints, instructions, drawings, work orders, or verbal instructions.
- Remove slag and spatter compound from the part surface.
- Removes burned-through metal and repairs welds when required.
- Responsible for following established safety practices.
- Uses oxy-acetylene torch as well as plasma cutter to cut material to size and shape. Notes and reports defects in material, tools, and equipment.
- Visually inspects welds for blow-through with aid of light and soap test as required.
- All other duties as assigned.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Capable of MIG and TIG Welding
- Good basic math skills are required
- Must have strong attention to detail and take pride in work as well as completing jobs in their allotted time frame.
- Must have the willingness to follow directions as well as the ability to work independently.
- Must have proper fit-up skills
- Must take pride in work, a job well done, and maintain an organized workspace.
- Positive attitude and the ability to work well with others.
- Understanding of manufacturing tools and their proper use.
Aptitudes/Abilities-
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
- Ability to communicate and work well with others throughout the organization.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and information furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, production schedules, work instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to self-govern oneself and be accountable for tasks
- Good mechanical aptitude
- Must have the ability to work independently on most job processes.
- Physical requirements of the job will include lifting, standing, bending, pushing, pulling, etc.
- Must frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
- Requires continual use of your hands, considerable use of your arms and legs, and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, kneeling, stooping, and handling materials.
- Requires long periods of standing.

- The use of safety equipment such as safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, gloves, helmets, and hearing protection is utilized daily.
