Job Profile

The company is seeking a Welder who will be responsible for performing welding operations following production requirements at the Salt Lake City facility.

Set up, prepare, and execute MIG or TIG welds on structural and fabricated metal parts.

Follow blueprints, work instructions, and quality standards to ensure components meet exact tolerances and customer specifications.

Supports continuous improvement, safety, and workflow efficiency in a team-based manufacturing environment.

Education Level

  • High School Diploma or GED (required)

Work Experience

  • Hands-on welding experience (1-2 years is preferred)
  • Proficiency in MIG or TIG welding (required)
  • Forklift or overhead crane experience is a plus.

License/Certification

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Comply with the EHS Policy and attend required safety trainings.
  • Enforce and adhere to Lockout/Tagout (LO/TO) procedures and all safety guidelines.
  • Follow all OSHA and company-specific safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE at all times.
  • Identify, mark, and label materials appropriately to support traceability and downstream processes.
  • Inspect and prepare materials and components before welding to ensure cleanliness and proper fit-up.
  • Install reinforcements such as hinge plates, strike reinforcements, anchors, gussets, and closer reinforcements.
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, and work instructions to determine required welds and layouts.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and support the preventative maintenance of welding equipment.
  • Participate in cross-training, team meetings, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Perform welding operations to specified dimensions and tolerances, maintaining consistent weld quality.
  • Set up and operate welding equipment (MIG, TIG, or other) to complete assigned work orders.
  • Verify dimensional accuracy using measuring tools and inspect completed welds for defects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and technical drawings.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with hand tools, grinders, clamps, and measuring equipment (calipers, tape measures, etc.).
  • Strong focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of material handling safety practices.

Work Environment

  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly.
  • Regular exposure to a manufacturing environment, including noise, machinery, and heat, dust/dirt frequently, and fumes, vapors, and mists occasionally.
  • Squatting, kneeling, and standing frequently.
  • Stand for extended periods (6-12 hours).
  • Use of steps, ladders, and lifting equipment.
