Job Profile

The company is hiring a Fabricator/Welder who will ensure that all parts are properly fitted, aligned with a great deal of precision, and secured.

Must be competent in using equipment following all safety precautions.

Possessing knowledge of different types of metal and their properties is essential.

Educational Qualification

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Professional Certification (e.g., an AWS welding certificate) is a plus
  • Successful completion of a relevant apprenticeship program (required)

Work Experience

  • Proven experience as a Fabricator (1-2 years of experience, certifications)
  • Proven experience as a Welder (1-2 years of experience, Certificates)
  • Architectural Guardrail and handrail experience are a plus.
  • Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, MIG, etc.) and machine shop equipment (cutoff saws, mills, lathes, auto benders, etc.)

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
  • Ensure quality control standards are met.
  • Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
  • Mark cutting lines on material.
  • Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
  • Read and understand product schematics and assembly instructions.
  • Read blueprints and drawings and taking measurements to plan layout and procedures
  • Report and detail product malfunctions.
  • Set up components and material requirements for welding and fabrication according to specifications
  • Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements)
  • Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures to discover flaws
  • Test products for their functionality.
  • Verify dimensions and product specifications.
  • Weld components using manual welding equipment in various tubes and plates

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
  • Able to lift 25 pounds plus
  • Good attention to detail
  • Proficient in English
  • Technical skilled
