Job Profile

The company is looking for a Welder I who will weld metal components together to fabricate or repair products according to layouts, blueprints, or work orders, using a variety of welding equipment.

Education Level

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Work Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of welding experience (required).

License/Certification

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Inspects work and related work of others and reports any defects or discrepancies to supervision immediately.
  • Interprets and reads drawings to ensure proper weld sequencing and weld sizing to complete work.
  • Operates overhead cranes, Jib cranes, or forklifts safely to move and set large parts to machines or fixtures.
  • Positions and clamps together components of fabricated metal products, preparatory to welding.
  • Welds metal parts together on subassemblies and production lines using the metal core GMAW gas, metal arc welding, and submerged arc process, and performs related tasks, such as cutting and grinding.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Incumbent may be required to work overtime as required to meet schedules.
  • Must be able to use a variety of hand tools, power tools, etc.
  • Must comply with all environmental, quality, and safety rules, practices, and standards.
  • Must project a cooperative and positive attitude toward customers, employees, and the Company.
  • Some standing, reaching, pushing, and pulling. Must be able to lift a maximum of 40 pounds.

Work Environment

  • Exposed to high heat, sparks, and fumes
  • May work indoors or outdoors, sometimes in harsh weather
  • Often involves standing, bending, or working in tight spaces
  • Requires wearing protective gear (helmet, gloves, jacket)
  • Works in factories, construction sites, or workshops
