Job Profile

The company is searching for a Welding/Automation Specialist who will be responsible for growing the rental, lease, and sales of Red D Arc Specialty Products to include sub-arc systems, positioners, manipulators, turning rolls, orbital and heat-treating equipment, blasting products, and related welding equipment in our Mid-South Region.

Follow up on sales leads, making presentations professionally, preparing quotes, producing conceptual Hard Automation application drawings, and expanding the current Company Hard Automation sales channels.

Coach and assist customers in performing their own heat treating and orbital welding.

Work directly with end-user customers and support our field sales team.

Possess excellent communication, business, and leadership skills and be able to demonstrate their past successes.

Education Level

  • Post-secondary education equivalent to an Associate’s degree in Engineering or related field (preferred)

Work Experience

  • Greater than 5 years of sales experience in Weld Process Sales

License/Certification

  • Preference given to applicants with additional qualifications/Certifications such as CWI, CWE, CRAW, CWS, NCCER instructor, etc.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Cold-calls and creates compilations of potential customers and leads.
  • Coordinates and performs on-site setup of equipment and demonstrations.
  • Develops and increases end-user customer bases through effective communication, assessment of needs, and recommendations of all Specialty Products solutions.
  • Develops and maintains customer relationships to move them from novice to competent self-performers in Orbital welding and Heat Treating.
  • Ensures a safe work environment by following Airgas/Red-D-Arc’s health and safety guidelines.
  • Expands current Weld Automation sales channels as well as developing and growing new sales channels such as: growing lines, cladding systems, hard automation work cell integration, and other specialized Hard Automation Integration applications.
  • Initiates and grows relationships with all Red-D-Arc Sales Leaders to grow Weld Automation Sales within each Red-D-Arc District.
  • Maintains a safe working environment in the branch by following Airgas/Red-D-Arc’s health and safety guidelines.
  • Maintains accurate and timely reports, including business plans and regional forecasts.
  • Makes application recommendations for Weld Automation product lines.
  • Provides exceptional customer service.
  • Represents the company at trade association meetings and trade shows.
  • Trains RDA field sales teams and Airgas Adv. Fab Specialists to understand our capabilities and grow standard and specialized PMT sales.
  • Works as part of a team to provide customer solutions.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

  • Strong Background in all welding processes with special emphasis on automation and SAW.
