Education Level
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Work Experience
- 2 to 4 years of leadership experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Ability to effectively communicate between different shifts, personnel, and leadership.
- Ability to ensure the product is imputed into the system in an efficient capacity.
- Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE) and work outdoors in a non-temperature-controlled environment.
- Actively model and enforce established safety policies and consistently seek opportunities for safety improvements – Manage the use of equipment and materials to ensure that products are manufactured on schedule and within quality and cost objectives.
- Anticipate and pursue product flow in a proactive manner displaying a sense of urgency to meet daily demands – Maintain a clean, orderly production environment that is thoroughly cleaned for the following shift.
- Communicate daily with all levels of employees regarding daily safety, quality, and production metrics to be achieved, and ongoing training and development activities. Communicates regularly with direct reports on their personal and team achievements and improvements needed, so that these individuals understand what is expected of them and their team.
- Lead work teams through positive interactions, motivation, and corrective action as needed.
- Maintaining a positive and engaged work environment for all personnel.
- Responsible for maintaining an efficient rate of production.
- Responsible for supervising the daily work of all production personnel.
- Responsible for the tracking of shop orders through production and expediting orders as the business requires.
- Train, or arrange training of, shift personnel to ensure consistent methods and results.
- Other duties as required or assigned.

- Reports to the Production Supervisor.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook- Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to be Valmont trained and certified in the operation of forklifts.
- Ability to read micrometers, flatness and radius gauges, and tape measures.
- Knowledge of all varieties of machines and fabrication.
- Maintain a safe and productive working environment.
- Must have strong mechanical aptitude.
- Overhead crane or forklift experience.
- The ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with the most frequent lift up to 20 pounds.
- The ability to meet production, safety, and quality standards in a high-paced working environment.
- Valid Driver’s License and safe driving record.
- Wear required personal protective equipment and follow facility safety regulations.
Credible Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in a leadership role in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results.
- Must have a high awareness of safety at all times.
- Six Sigma certification or training.
- The ability to communicate and interact with coworkers in a positive manner
- The ability to pay attention to detail and follow work instructions
- The ability to recognize and solve practical problems or issues.
Educational Skills
- Able to do basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and fraction conversion)
- Able to read and comprehend routings and blueprints
- Able to use a computer to enter production data, perform timekeeping functions, interface with machines and other equipment
- Able to use a tape measure
