Job Profile
The Company is seeking a Millwright who will be responsible for maintaining and repairing production and non-production equipment in the press shop which includes presses, transfers, automation, destackers, blanking lines, cranes, and scrap conveyors, as well as toolroom equipment.
Also, be responsible to ensure that the Customer, People, and Investor goals are balanced and met.
Educational Qualification
- Applicants should have an Associate’s Degree or Equivalent from a two-year college or technical school or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Work Experience
- Possess 5 years of experience or training
Duties/Responsibilities
- Determine the root cause for quality defects and system failures
- Fabricate components and such using various cutting tools, lathes, and drill presses, and use your welding skills
- Implement continuous improvements in our production lines
- Keep equipment assigned to you in clean, safe, and good working conditions
- Maintaining press shop production and non-production equipment
- Must be able to work with minimum or no supervision
- Perform daily routine and scheduled PM checks on equipment assigned to you
- Perform major repairs and overhauls of our equipment as needed, which requires overtime work, long hours, and willingness to work weekends and holidays
- Response to production calls to repair issues causing downtime or quality concerns
- Rotating shifts (1, 2, 3) or permanent off shifts. Overtime based on customer requirements.
- Supporting our customer – Press Shop
- Troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Utilize SAP for notification and work orders
- Perform other duties as required.
Other Requirements
- Basic computer skills are beneficial
- Hydraulic or pneumatic system knowledge would be beneficial
- Must be able to read and understand blueprints and ability to use the metric system
- Strong fabrication or machining or mechanical skills are required
- Welding skills and cutting torch skills are required
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
Communication Skills-
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret customer and industry requirements as it applies to Drive Automotive.
- Ability to write reports and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills-
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw, and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability-
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
Work Environment
- 80% standing and walking, 20% stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, or balancing
- Exposure to electrical systems, presses, motors and energy storing, etc.
- Exposure to potentially dangerous energy-storing systems such as accumulators or pressure vessels
- Physically fit and able to lift 100 lbs.
- Work near moving mechanical parts, work in high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles and vibrations.
- Working in a noisy environment
