Job Profile
The company is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer who will work with all facets of the organization to ensure cost-effective and efficient operations on Perlick’s manufacturing floor.
Educational Qualification
- Applicants require a Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering related field from a college/university
Work Experience
- Possess 2 to 4 years of experience in a Union environment (preferred)
- Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) experience (a plus)
- Demonstrated experience in Process Analysis and Implementing changes for increased efficiency or cost reduction.
- Hands-on experience with electronic and mechanical inspection equipment: dial calipers, dial indicators, micrometers, height stands, gage blocks, pin gages, thread gages, etc.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Assists other departments such as accounting, design engineering, quality, and purchasing to solve manufacturing and production problems
- Assures product and in-process quality by designing testing methods, testing finished products and process capabilities, and establishing standards for production.
- Collaborates with production planning and supervisors to ensure that units are completed per the production schedule
- Evaluates current manufacturing and implement improvements by designing, applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials, conferring with equipment vendors, and soliciting input from operators
- Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout
- Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs, reviewing production schedules, and estimating future requirements for both current production and New Products.
- Provides work leadership and training
- Research, propose, and assist in implementing continuous improvement modifications of existing processes or equipment
- Review routings for content and correctness, making corrections or updates as appropriate
- Other duties as assigned
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Basic knowledge of Project Management principles and their application (a plus)
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of Sheet Metal fabricating equipment including lasers, turret punch presses, hydraulic brakes, welding, and assembly
- Knowledge of World Class Manufacturing and Lean Manufacturing principles
- Machine/PLC Programming Languages (Mazatrol, G code) (a plus)
- Proficiency in Solidworks and AutoCAD (a plus)
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Reading and interpretation of drawings/blueprints, including geometric and close tolerances
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
