Job Profile

The company is searching for a Utility Person who will assist the mechanic, machinist, and fabrication/welding departments in supporting teardown, power washing, sandblasting, and painting operations.

This position requires material handling skills to move components between departments.

This position will report to the Manager, Manufacturing Operations.

Educational Qualification

• Applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED (required)

Work Experience

• Possess a strong mechanical background

Duties/Responsibilities

• Ability to multi-task and change direction with short notice.
• Have a basic understanding of shop safety and ensure that the team maintains a safety-first culture
• Keep incoming and in-process parts labeled and in the proper staging areas.
• Many jobs will require individual efforts to complete the work but will require coordination with each of the department lead persons for direction.
• Move finished parts to the final prep area to complete necessary painting and rust prevention procedures.
• Operation of mobile equipment including loader, skid steer, tractor, and motor grader.
• Rigging, blasting, painting, and material handling will be integral to each and every workday.
• Stage components using forklifts, overhead bridge cranes, and jib cranes.
• Sweep floors, dump chips, clean machines, and change machine oils.
• Upkeep of site roads, boneyards, and staging areas.
• Use fresh air-supplied painting and sandblasting helmets for proper PPE.
• Use outdoor sandblasting equipment to prepare crusher components for further processing.
• Use power washing equipment to clean dirt, oils, grease, grime, and rocks from recently decommissioned equipment

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• The ability to lift up to 50 lbs. will be required
• Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions, cold and wind, sometimes rain, will be required
• Basic computer skills with the ability to report and transfer information
• Must be a self-motivated, strong work ethic individual that is willing to work with minimal supervision and at a high level of accountability to operational requirements
