Job Profile

The company is looking for a Maintenance Technician/Millwright who will primarily perform electrical maintenance, install, examine, replace or repair components; troubleshoot electrical systems and building services.

Provide technical support to production teams in supporting production uptime, ensuring optimal functioning of the production equipment and facilities.

Provides critical support in reducing production downtime, implementing and maintaining electrical programs, preventive maintenance of equipment, and effective troubleshooting and repair of equipment.

Educational Qualification

  • No education level is mentioned, yet applicants may be required a High School Diploma

Work Experience

  • Possess 2 to 5 years of industrial mechanical experience, preferably in the food industry
  • A proven track record working with mechanics, machine shop practices (lathe/milling machines), welding (Arc TIG, MIG), and pneumatic and hydraulic fields (required)

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts
  • Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment.
  • Comply with all applicable legislative and Bakery food safety, health and safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Continually improve equipment function via design improvements
  • Ensure that the work area is clean of debris and hazards at all times and check the work area for such hazards upon arrival and when departing each area of work
  • Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions
  • Install, troubleshoot and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and programmable logic controls
  • Operate machine tools such as lathes and mill machines to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance, or set-up of machinery
  • Optimize equipment safety, efficiency and reliability, participating in continuous improvement projects and completing work orders according to PM schedules
  • Read blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
  • Service, clean, perform preventative maintenance and overhaul all production and bakery equipment
  • Troubleshoot/repair/install processing equipment with a working knowledge of electrical to allow efficient repair/replacement results
  • Use your extensive mechanical knowledge including that of power transmission, pneumatics, and hydraulics
  • Work in a safe manner in accordance with legislated and company health and safety standards
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or required

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to work a flexible shift day/afternoon/night, Sunday to Saturday.
  • Open to hiring apprentices
  • Problem-solving skills and good communication skills are required.
