Job Profile
The company is searching for a Manufacturing Engineer who will be responsible for developing, evaluating, and improving manufacturing methods to achieve improved quality, product cost, and manufacturing efficiency.
This position applies knowledge of design, materials/components, fabrication, welding, and paint processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality standards.
Educational Qualification
- Applicants should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent from a college/university
Work Experience
- Possess 2 years of related experience in a machining/manufacturing environment
- Experience with ERP software (JDE preferred)
Duties/Responsibilities
- Analyze data from ERP and other databases to assist with production needs and determine the root causes of issues affecting production
- Collaborate with design engineers and product line teams to implement design and manufacturing changes and recommend ways to reduce product costs and improve functionality.
- Comply with all OSHA regulations, safety requirements, and regulatory requirements in regard to Environmental, UL, ISO, and similar agencies.
- Design and develop processes, and shop layouts for maximum efficiency and flow.
- Design, research and maintain product fixtures and machine tools to ensure the products are produced efficiently and without any defects
- Implement continuous improvement and Lean manufacturing principles and techniques to realize gains in employee ownership, performance, and reliability.
- Lead sustaining engineering projects such as executing Engineering Change Notices, executing and sustaining Bills of Materials, processing routings and modifications, building and maintaining visual work instructions, helping in developing training checklists, etc.
- Manage projects from concept, design; capital appropriation requests; and qualification within project schedules and budgets.
- Partner with the quality department and shop floor in quality improvements through root cause analysis and problem resolution, and ensure ISO9001 compliance.
- Provide in-house support for machining specialists/operators and maintenance personnel.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to interpret technical drawing specifications and apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements.
- Knowledge and experience working in a team environment
- Organizational, communication, presentation, and project management skills to interface with all levels of the organization, suppliers, and customers.
- Proficient with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar software and Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years experience in a machining/manufacturing environment
- Knowledge and application of LEAN Manufacturing techniques
- Knowledge of problem-solving fundamentals.
- Knowledgeable in automated processes, robotics, PLC controls, and programming
- Plant network systems experience
