The company is hiring a Welding Foreman to join its team.

Educational Qualification

  • Applicants may be required a High School Diploma or GED

Work Experience

  • Must have at least 5 years of experience in assembly and erection of various sub-assemblies, outfitting, and pre-erection stages.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Coordinates with the Fabrication shop on units and parts being moved into the assembly stages.
  • Coordinates with Maintenance and Facilities on any related issues.
  • Coordinates with QC Department for quality issues and inspections.
  • Depending on the project, this job classification may require that you be certified and or licensed on heavy equipment operation, overhead cranes, or diesel, gasoline, and electric powered forklifts.
  • Enforces all company policies.
  • Follows attendance and enforces progressive discipline for employees with attendance or performance problems.
  • Must be a self-starter able to perform job duties with little or no supervision.
  • Must be able to maintain a clean work environment.
  • Must be able to meet the work schedule.
  • Must be detail orientated and have excellent follow-up skills.
  • Must have a willingness to learn new techniques.
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively with different levels of management, craft, and different departments.
  • Must have good organizational skills and ability to accomplish the required assignments within designated timeframes.
  • Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by Senesco job hazard analysis.
  • Responsible for area cleanliness.
  • Responsible for maintaining proper manpower levels as needed to support schedule and budget.
  • Responsible for maintaining work schedules.
  • Responsible for safety by enforcing safety guidelines and proper use of PPE.
  • Reviews production schedules in detail and works with Planning and Scheduling to maintain delivery dates as required.
  • Trains and develops subordinates.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Must have in-depth knowledge of assembly and erection of steel and aluminum hull vessels and there is a preference, but not required, for being a certified weld instructor (CWI).
  • Must be familiar with the installation of all outfitting items required.
  • Must be capable of reading and understanding the shipyard construction and work package assembly drawings.
  • Must be familiar with the techniques used in the proper alignment of components of sub-assemblies.
  • Must have extensive knowledge of acceptable welds and weld preparation and coordinate with other shifts and departments.
  • Must comply with all safety procedures and guidelines, and comply with all company-issued policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Must have excellent work ethic including excellent attendance, punctuality, and the desire to complete designated work in a timely fashion.
  • Must be an excellent communicator and be computer literate.

Physical Demands

  • Must have correctable vision to 20/40; however, contact lenses are not permitted in certain production area positions.
  • Must pass the Ishihara test for color blindness and have the ability to read and understand safety symbols and colors, (i.e., red, yellow, green, etc.).
  • Must be able to stand, sit, walk, squat, kneel, stoop, or climb stairs or a ladder of up to 15 steps.
  • May be required to carry items up to a maximum of 20 pounds.

Work Demands

  • Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to a respirator, hardhat, face shield, safety goggles, safety shoes (steel toe), safety harness, gloves, or other protective clothing as determined by a Senesco Marine Job Hazard Analysis.
  • Must report all accidents or injuries to their supervisor and the Environmental Safety and Health Department.
  • Must report to Assembly Shop Manager any and all damages to equipment, or broken and misused tools.
  • Needs to work at a pace consistent with meeting company deadlines.
