Job Profile
The company is looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer who will be responsible for ensuring that suppliers meet the company’s quality standards, by implementing robust quality processes and a supplier audit plan driven by a risk-based approach using analysis of supplier data of product non-conformance and product criticality.
Education Level
- Post-Secondary Degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectation.
Work Experience
- Experience in problem-solving/8D methodology and dealing with customer returns and complaints.
- Experience working with First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR’s)
- Extensive experience with QMS development, application, and maintenance to ISO 9001; AS9100 essential.
- ISO 9001; AS9100 qualified auditor with experience in conducting quality audits and developing/mentoring other internal auditors.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Define and lead supplier corrective action process, with a reporting system to control and improve supplier quality throughout the business through audit nonconformance and internally identified product nonconformance.
- Implements requirements within incoming inspection, for improved robust purchased part inspection.
- Leads team-based problem-solving projects for root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive actions for process, product, customer, and supplier concerns.
- Maintain and develop a comprehensive supplier audit structure with a clear audit schedule and audit performance.
- Maintain and develop supplier quality management process to ISO9001, AS9100, NADCAP, and other aerospace and customer-specific requirements.
- Maintain, develop, and improve processes and procedures ensuring they meet the current and future needs of the business.
- Maintains process for containment coordination to manage containment of purchased products.
- Manage supplier quality management process.
- Provides training and mentoring of others within the business to conduct supplier audits.
- Supporting Quality Assurance tasks as required.
- Supports quality assurance with internal auditing.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to select and use applicable methods, procedures, and standards to meet targets.
- Solid analytical skills and judgment to proactively identify and solve increasingly complex problems.
- Strong attention to detail, good organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize with changing situations.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to drive tasks to completion.
- The role requires good communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to analyze and solve complex problems. The SQE plays a critical role in ensuring that the company’s products are of the highest quality and meet expectations.
- Use of Microsoft Office applications such as Excel and Word.
Desirable Skills-
- Experience in working within or implementing requirements of AS13100.
- Experience working alongside NADCAP Welding and NDT requirements.
- Experience working with PPAPs and APQPs.
- Lead auditor trained.
