Job Profile
The company is recruiting a Pipefitter/Welder who will support the operation of the facility through properly maintaining various types of fixed equipment.
Responsible for the removal, repair, and installation of equipment associated with pressure vessels, heat exchangers, furnaces/heaters, valves, and piping systems throughout the facility.
Education Level
- High School Diploma or GED
Work Experience
- 2 years of verifiable journeyman-level pipefitter/boilermaker work experience.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Able to field-measure and draw isometric sketches for piping layout and fabrication.
- Able to read and understand schematics and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
- Able to work as a team and collaborate to accomplish work efficiently and to high-quality standards.
- Effective verbal and written communication and reporting on work being performed.
- Ensure all work is performed in a safe and environmentally compliant manner, adhering to site Health and Safety processes and Environmental regulations.
- Ensure that equipment is safely prepared for Maintenance and all documents are in order before starting work.
- Expected to train on Exchanger craft, including knowledge of exchanger types, exchanger-specific tooling, and procedures.
- Perform work per applicable technical standards and specifications (Marathon, Industry, or Manufacturer).
- Responsible for safely operating various types of mobile equipment, including forklifts, and aerial lifts.
- Completes routine paperwork and work orders regarding the repair of process equipment.
- Responsible for the maintenance and repair of the refinery equipment including, but not limited to, all process units, tank farms, buildings, and yards.
- Use of various tools and equipment to assemble/disassemble flanges, blind/de-blind equipment, demo/install piping, pull/replace valves, clean/repair heater burners, pull and clean filters/screens, torque/tension joints, make-up/fabricate tubing and threaded piping, and perform hydrostatic testing.
- Must be able to wear the appropriate PPE and physically perform job duties that include working in an outdoor process facility under the direction of the Maintenance Department.
Preferred Qualifications
- Work experience in a refining, petrochemical, or other related industry.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and SAP.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Must be knowledgeable on the use of tools/equipment of the trade and general rigging methods.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US without the need for future VISA sponsorship.
- Must have a valid driver’s license upon hire.
- Must qualify for similar MPC Welding Procedures per the requirements of ASME Section IX.
- Must complete a rigorous pre-employment assessment process, drug/alcohol and medical screenings, and a background check. Will be subject to random drug and alcohol screenings.
