Job Profile
The company is looking for a Maintenance Technician who will repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and aluminum extrusion production machines and equipment.
Operate a highly automated extrusion press line.
Lead team members, as well as report on the efficiency of presses.
Understanding of flow in the department, including lot tickets, press schedules, tooling, log inventory, material handling at the saw, and through the aging oven.
Education Level
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent (required)
Work Experience
- 2 years of experience in a similar position in a manufacturing environment, prior knowledge of the extrusion department (preferred)
Duties/Responsibilities
- Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
- Identifies stored energy and performs all Lockout/Tagout procedures according to company policy.
- Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
- Participates and is fully engaged in continuous reliability improvement of all equipment and processes.
- Performs electrical troubleshooting and interprets electrical diagrams and symbols.
- Provides routine maintenance on hydraulic systems such as Oil Gear, Rex Roth, Racine, Vickers, etc.
- Reads and interprets hydraulic, schematic, basic electric, electronic, and Ohm’s laws.
- Reads and interprets PLC programs. Trouble shoots problems in PLC hardware and software.
- Repairs or replaces defective parts. Installs special functional and structural parts in devices. Lubricates and cleans parts.
- Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
