Job Profile

The company is searching for a Quality Inspector who will provide coverage of Quality Assurance Lab responsibilities in support of manufacturing operations.

This position will have high visibility with manufacturing team members, Value Stream, and engineering functions.

Education Level

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent (required)

Work Experience

  • 2+ years of prior experience in quality inspection (required), preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • 5+ years of quality inspection in a manufacturing environment (highly desired)
  • Prior quality experience in a CNC Machining environment (a plus)

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Apply statistical methods and perform mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing process capabilities
  • Confer with others in the organization regarding purchases, procedures, product specifications, manufacturing capabilities, and project status
  • Follow work procedures and ensure the highest level of quality and compliance
  • Interpret drawings and verify requirements as applicable to production/Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) parts. Communicate the results to the appropriate people in support of manufacturing operations.
  • Recommend and specify instrumentation, calibration, and gauging needs
  • Responsible for prompt and regular attendance as scheduled, may be required to work scheduled overtime
  • Understand and perform to all quality regulations, standards, and policies, including but not limited to ISO 9001:2015 and AAR M-1003
  • Work safely following all established policies and requirements
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to problem-solve individually or as part of a group, as job duties require
  • Ability to read/interpret blueprints, job orders, tooling instructions, and standard charts
  • Ability to use calipers, plug and thread gages, micrometers, and other measuring devices
  • Ability to work collaboratively and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers at all levels of the company
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Actively participate in defining strategies to meet quality objectives and in system reviews within the team
  • Actively participate in team meetings as required (safety, problem solving, etc.)
  • Excellent ability to organize and prioritize work responsibilities. Results oriented
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
  • General knowledge/understanding or some experience operating or programming CMMs (knowledge of PCDMIS is preferred)
  • Perform housekeeping duties including 5S, coolant replacement, and TPM
  • Strong sense of commitment and the capacity to function in an autonomous environment

Work Environment

  • Continuously standing, repetitively grasping, and repetitively using fine manipulation with the hands
  • May be frequently required to walk, bend, squat, or twist as well as repetitively push or pull frequently up to 10 pounds, occasionally 25 pounds, and infrequently 50 pounds with assistance
  • Performed in an active manufacturing/quality office environment, and as required by job duties, may also require work in a shop environment.
  • May be exposed to loud operating machinery, cold/hot temperature variations, and occasional chemicals and vapors.
