Job Profile
The company is recruiting a Heavy Equipment Mechanic who will perform preventative and minor repair, and restorative maintenance on heavy industrial equipment.
Education Level
- High School Diploma or GED
Work Experience
- Experience working in an industrial shop environment and repairing heavy mining equipment
- CAT SIS Program experience
- Experience working with Vision Link
- SAP experience
- Welding experience
License/Certification
- Mechanic Certification
Duties/Responsibilities
- Checks and fills fluid levels, services lube points, and performs routine preventative maintenance
- Installs, removes, maintains, and inspects equipment
- Maintains positive relationships with plant personnel
- Maintains service, repair, and maintenance records
- Monitors warranty and service agreements and contacts vendor reps as required
- Performs diagnostics, welding, and fabrication as needed
- Prepares work orders and orders parts in SAP
- Services and performs minor repairs on gas and diesel heavy equipment such as scrapers, excavators, dozers, haul trucks, wheel loaders, water and lube trucks, and pick-ups
- Performs other duties as assigned
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Able to operate vehicles and equipment for testing and troubleshooting before and after performing maintenance activities
- Able to provide own tools
- Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer programs
Work Environment
- Lifting up to 60 lbs., bending, stooping, and stretching
