Job Profile
The company is hiring a Journeyman Millwright with a strong mechanical aptitude and is willing and eager to invest time and energy in training to gain the necessary skills and knowledge to be successful.
May interact with management, engineering, and vendors regarding new machinery/equipment selection, specifications, and set-up.
Educational Qualification
- Applicants require a High School Diploma or GED
- Formal apprenticeship or education (preferred)
Work Experience
- Possess 3+ years of experience working in an industrial maintenance environment as a Journey level Millwright, previous experience in a pulp and paper mill would be considered a plus
- Experience welding carbon and stainless steel.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Be able to read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures to assemble, dismantle and overhaul machinery and equipment using hand and power tools
- Perform a variety of maintenance-related tasks in connection with the maintenance, repair, or improvement of equipment related to pulp and paper manufacturing processes
- Perform the duties of a welder such as an arc welding, etc.
- Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and pneumatic equipment
- Work with a wide variety of precision tools such as veneer calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, levels, gauge blocks, and optical and laser alignment tooling
- Other duties as assigned
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to perform basic mathematical functions, read and interpret technical documents, and operate moderately complex software and web-based programs.
- Have the appropriate body coordination with or without reasonable accommodation to do the following for extended periods of time: climbing ladders, bending, twisting, kneeling, crawling, pulling/pushing, standing, walking, and squatting in varying temperatures (hot/cold)
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills; customer-focused and a flexible, positive attitude.
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision or direction.
