Job Profile

The company is recruiting a Field Crew Foreman to join its team.

This is an hourly position with some overnight travel.

Educational Qualification

  • Applicants should have a High School Graduate or GED equivalent

Work Experience

  • Possess experience in the misc. metals field for a minimum of 8+ years (preferred)
  • Supervisory experience (preferred)

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Attend job-site meetings (Foremen’s, Safety, or Production meetings)
  • complete daily field reports and vehicle inspection reports
  • Coordinate daily activities with General Contractor
  • Ensure crew members have proper certifications, are qualified to operate equipment or tools, and follow job-site safety regulations
  • File incident reports as necessary to report any observed safety violations or situations that may affect the safety of any crew member or other tradesmen
  • Inform the Project Manager and Field Superintendent of potential delays that would impact schedules
  • Instruct and organize crews, tools, materials, and installation of stairs, rails, and miscellaneous metals
  • Monitor the maintenance of service trucks, welders, tools, and equipment and inform Field Operations manner of any issues
  • Provide skills vital for the installation of stairs, rails, and misc. metals
  • Read and layout in accordance with blueprints
  • Responsible for reviewing Tool-Box Shop Talks, job-site safety, and general safety regulations
  • Responsible for the timely completion of Daily Field Reports, Safety Reports, Time and Material tickets, and any other documents required by the General Contractor
  • Schedule regular maintenance of equipment
  • Serve as Company’s Safety representative on-site (require that all personnel wear proper P.P.E. and follow Site Specific Safety Plans laid out for the job)

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide into all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, Tool-Box Shop Talks and safety procedures, Operator’s Manuals, and maintenance instructions
  • Ability to speak effectively to contractors, clients, customers, the general public, and employees of the organization
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Be team oriented
  • considerable knowledge of utilized tools and equipment
  • Current welder certifications or ability to pass a weld test
  • Excellent time-management skills with the ability to meet fast-paced project demands
  • Have a positive attitude with a dependable self-driven work ethic
  • Thorough knowledge of stairs, rails, and miscellaneous metals
  • Understanding o angle’s and degrees
  • Working Knowledge of AWS D1.1 and the following processes, SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, and GTAW

Work Environment

  • Exposed to electrical shock risk
  • Exposure to dust and foreign particles, welding fumes, etc.
  • Exposure to loud noises, hearing protection is required
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts and moving equipment
  • Subject to outside environmental conditions (weather, heat, cold, etc.)

Physical Requirements

  • Climb, stoop, kneel, crouch
  • Lift at least 100 lbs.
  • Repeating motions that may include wrists, hands, or fingers
  • Climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
