Duties/Responsibilities
- Complete all required reports, records, and production information.
- Detect and report faulty equipment, improper operations, and unusual conditions to supervision.
- Exercise care in welding to ensure proper technique.
- Exercise proper care in the use of tools, equipment, and materials.
- Interpret drawings; position, block, clamp, and tack parts to obtain proper alignment.
- Observe all prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain the work area in a neat and orderly condition.
- Perform a full range of shield metal arc (SMAW), gas metal arc (GMAW), gas tungsten arc (GTAW), and flux core arc (FCAW) welding operations under specific codes and ASME pressure vessels.
- Select proper welding equipment and material as prescribed; regulate current, voltage, and pressure for the proper fusion of metals.
- Work from routing sheets, blueprints, weld procedures, and written and verbal instructions. Weld in all positions for pressure, strength, and appearance on certified work.
- Perform other duties as assigned or directed.
