Job Profile

The company (Waiteco Machine, a CMT company) is a CNC Vertical Mill Setup Operator who will be responsible for operating computer numerical control (CNC) Vertical Mills to perform machine functions on very close tolerance machined parts.

Educational Qualification

  • Applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED

Work Experience

  • Possess 3+ years of 3 and 4-axis machine experience (required)

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Ability to program using Mastercam X.
  • Ensures a safe work environment is maintained, appropriate safety systems/processes are utilized, and ensure compliance with all OSHA and other state/federal safety and environmental-related rules and regulations.
  • Inspects first run piece and makes offsets as required, spot-checks succeeding pieces for conformance to specifications (including documentation of results).
  • Maintains a clean and organized work environment through 5-S controls (willing to learn 5-S controls).
  • Performs other associated duties as needed to continue the productive operation of the company.
  • Prepares programs and pre-sets all tools needed for machining operations.
  • Preps, positions, and secures workpieces in holding devices, machine tables, chuck, centers, or fixtures.
  • Recommends and helps implement any improvements that could be made to the existing process.
  • Sets up fixtures, installs tooling, installs programs, enters offsets, and proves out machine.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to inspect parts with various measuring tools
  • Ability to lift 70 pounds
  • Ability to read and understand G code Programming
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must have good manual dexterity
