Job Profile
The company is searching for a CNC VMC Operator who will operate one or more CNC VMCs in a busy production environment processing large runs of carbon steel parts for world-class heavy equipment OEMs.
Educational Qualification
- Successful completion of a Mechanical Engineering Technologist or similar program from a college/university
Work Experience
- 3+ years of practical experience operating CNC VMCs
Duties/Responsibilities
- Complete production and quality documents.
- Handle steel parts manually and using hoists.
- Monitor machine functions and act promptly to correct errors.
- Perform basic machine maintenance such as cleaning, monitoring fluid levels, and emptying the chip collector.
- Perform part prep and machine loading/unloading.
- Perform thorough visual and dimensional checks to ensure parts meet specifications.
- Read and interpret drawings, machine programs, and production documents.
- Setup, operate and troubleshoot one or more Mazak CNC VMCs based on the assigned schedule.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Carry out written instructions accurately and consistently
- Easily read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Fluent in both imperial and metric systems
- Lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs.)
- Perform intermediate math
- Read and interpret G-code
- Skilled in the use of basic and precision measuring tools
- Speak, read, and write English at a conversational level
- Strong attention to detail
