Job Profile
The company is looking to hire a Fabrication Manager who will be responsible for the safe and efficient operations of the fabrication department and the development of employees that will ensure all projects meet budget and time requirements.
Educational Qualification
- Applicants should have a B.S./B.A. Degree in a related field from a college/university
Work Experience
- Possess 5 years at the Manufacturing Manager level in a high-volume environment; tier one automotive experience (a plus)
- Experience in stamping, metal forming, and welding environment (a plus)
Duties/Responsibilities
- Coordinate activities among Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Finance to meet, or exceed quality, cost, and delivery objectives.
- Create and deploy key process indicators for departmental performance and to support the facility’s goals and objectives and optimization of the various departments.
- Ensure Superior quality in all Manufacturing processes.
- Manage budgetary and financial controls to meet or exceed Plan objectives.
- Participate in the development of business strategy plans and implementation.
- Promote harmonious working relationships among all associates including manufacturing associates, Management, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, etc.
- Provide direction for training and development of plant associates.
- Provide leadership in lean manufacturing deployment to drive cultural transformation.
- Provide overall leadership for the Fabrication department’s supervisors, leads, and associates.
- Relentlessly pursue stretch goals to drive innovation and aggressive growth.
- Work with Manufacturing and Engineering in product problem-solving.
- Perform miscellaneous duties as required.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Must possess strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work with all levels of employees
- Must have Strong computer skills with excellent skills in Microsoft Office applications. Able to develop summary graphs, tables, pivot tables, and other reports using PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- Experience with JD Edwards (preferred)
- Experience working with cross-functional teams
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to assess situations and develop plans to quickly resolve
- Lean manufacturing knowledge and driving cultural transformation with leadership. Strong knowledge and experience in the following concepts-
-One-piece flow: balancing, pacing, and improved through-put
-Visual factory; KPIs, pacing boards, EI
-Work cell dynamics
- Strong Quality Systems knowledge and experience including-
-PPAP, APQP, PFMEA, and control plant
-Error-proofing (Poka-yoke)
-ISO or TS 16949 depth of understanding
- Knowledge of financial reporting of operational performance including standard costing, labor variances, productivity and efficiency Staffing, rates, and product mix implications on Operations.
- Must possess a strong technical background and the ability to use problem-solving techniques to properly identify, and document issues and provide direction to improve systems as needed.
- Strong engineering and process conformance knowledge and experience including SWI (standard work), Testing and audit processes, and Engineering change management and support
