Job Profile

The company is looking to hire a Heavy Equipment Mechanic who will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, troubleshooting, installing, and repairing all mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment related to mobile equipment, stationary engines, and associated equipment for the efficient and safe operation of the plant.

Educational Qualification

• Applicants should have a High School Diploma or Equivalent

Work Experience

• Possess 3 to 5 years of journeyman-level mechanic experience (required)
• 5 years of heavy mobile equipment experience
• Experience preferred on dozers, Cat haul trucks, front-end loaders, mobile cranes, and forklifts

Duties/Responsibilities

• Ability to read, understand and apply all schematics, drawings, technical applications, and logic
• Communicate with plant management on all safety and maintenance needs
• Conduct a complete pre-and post-shift safety inspection
• Knowledge of truck air brake systems and ability to diagnose and repair problems
• Maintain, repair, troubleshoot, install and replace all mechanical electrical, and electronic equipment related to mobile equipment, stationary engines, and associated equipment
• Make minor repairs including welding and cutting
• Observe all safety precautions and rules specified by federal, state, and company regulations
• Perform diesel and gasoline engine repairs and diagnose and perform power train component repairs
• Perform specialized component repairs such as hydraulic and mechanical drives
• Report unsafe conditions, accidents, or incidents immediately to the Lead person or Manager
• Troubleshoot and perform hydraulic system repairs

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Knowledge of preventative maintenance scheduling
• Basic computer skills (required)
