Job Profile

The company is searching for a Heavy Equipment Operator who will handle the internal construction crew completing pipeline integrity activities such as recoats, reinforcement sleeves, cutouts, wraps, etc., in TC’s operational footprint.

Education Level

  • High School Diploma or GED (required)

Work Experience

  • 5 or more years of experience operating equipment (required)

License/Certification

  • Maintain a valid CDL license and safe driving record

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assist the crew on constructability reviews, safety aspects, and compliance for projects
  • Assist with information gathering for quotations and other data as needed
  • Assist other crew members with repair activities
  • Assist with project documentation
  • Assist with stocking and ordering various project consumables
  • Operate equipment (track hoes, dozers, skid steers, telehandlers) near and in service pipelines
  • Order oversized haul permits
  • Responsible to oversee equipment certification logs and ensure compliance
  • Transport equipment and material
  • Other tasks as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of a 2-3 year vocational/technical training program
  • Pipeline construction industry experience
  • Computer proficiency (Windows, Word, email)
  • High degree of respect for safe work habits
  • Ability to develop an understanding of Company practices and procedures and apply them on-site
  • Demonstrated concern for people, utilizing effective interpersonal skills
  • Strong planning and organization skills
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a construction environment.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to obtain Operator Qualifications as required for specific tasks assigned
  • Ability to operate power tools safely and effectively, such as drills, grinders, torches, etc.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding duties as required.
  • Able to obtain or currently hold a valid CDL license

Work Environment

  • Exposed to loud noise, dust, and vibrations
  • May work long or irregular hours, including nights
  • Must follow strict safety procedures at all times
  • Often works outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Physically demanding, requiring strength and stamina
