Job Profile

The company is recruiting a Maintenance Repair (Millwright) who will be responsible for the troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of all mechanical plant equipment.

Job functions primarily are millwright and welding duties.

Educational Qualification

  • Applicants be a minimum of High School Graduates

Work Experience

  • Possess a minimum of 5 years of millwright experience

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assist electricians in changing and aligning motors.
  • Fabricate replacement pieces including bending, welding, and cutting various steel shapes and pipes using arc and gas processes. This will be done in the shop area as well as out in the plant.
  • Install new equipment in the plant. Relocate existing equipment as required.
  • Must maintain tools in good condition and use all tools as instructed.
  • Must prepare a parts list sufficiently to complete a repair job.
  • Must read and use instruction and parts books.
  • Operate welders, torches, drill press, grinder, bender, shears, saws, plasma cutter, chain hoists, piranha ironworker, jacks, air compressor, chokers, sling, and hand tools – hydraulic and torque wrench sets.
  • Perform plumbing duties in assembling, installing, and repairing water lines, pipes, fittings, and fixtures.
  • Required to operate mobile equipment such as trucks, forklifts, cranes, and man lifts.
  • Required to read and interpret sketches, diagrams, and blueprints and work from the blueprints with minimum supervision.
  • Responsible to instruct other maintenance repairmen in the performance of job duties. Must maintain good housekeeping in the shop area and plant areas where performing repair work.
  • Responsible to tear down and perform mechanical repairs to plant equipment including (but not limited to) conveyors, belts, bearings, rollers, screens, feeders, hydraulic pumps, mixers, coolers, elevators, speed reducers, mills, crushers, fans, hoists, kilns, dryers, calciners, silos, and railroad tracks.
  • Responsible to troubleshoot plant equipment and machinery to diagnose and identify problems and repairs needed.
  • Must perform such other duties as assigned.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to perform essential functions of the repairman job while maintaining standards of performance and efficiency as measured through visual observation and quality of work performed.
  • Must be able to perform all essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation without posing a direct threat to health and safety.
  • The ability to communicate with and work well with other employees.
