The company is looking for a Maintenance Supervisor to join its team.

Education Level

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Associate’s Degree (preferred)

Work Experience

  • Microsoft Project experience (required)

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Conducts annual updates of OSHA-required training. Ensures renewal of all required inspections and licenses for the facilities
  • Develop training programs for individuals in electrical and maintenance groups to continuously improve the effectiveness of each group
  • Directs maintenance of plant buildings and coordinates requirements for new designs, surveys, and maintenance schedules for equipment and machinery
  • Establishes standards and policies for installation, modification, testing, operating procedure, inspection, and maintenance of equipment such as the fire loop, emergency generator, compressors, power distribution, HVAC, process water, argon system, plumbing, production equipment, fork truck fleet, grounds, and general facilities
  • Facilitate and participate in the implementation of plant-wide initiatives, including safety improvements, TPM, general housekeeping, 5S, Six Sigma, etc.
  • Manages annual budgets, recommends capital expenditures, and approves departmental expenses.  Negotiates vendor contracts. Manages capital projects from planning through implementation
  • Provide support to the manufacturing production facilities on current and new launch products and resolve technical issues
  • Provides direct supervision to maintenance employees over 3 shifts. Responsibilities include hiring, performance management, training, corrective action, recognition, discipline/discharge
  • Responsible for the implementation of plant-wide preventive maintenance program; ensures compliance. Maintain data on equipment repairs and maintenance using data stream software
  • Review and approve work performed by outside contractors for the maintenance of facilities and equipment. Ensures contractors and employees follow all company policies, all state and federal regulations, including HAZMAT, OSHA, NFPA, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Ability to fabricate, assemble, or disassemble manufactured products by hand
  • Ability to interact with employees in a professional manner
  • Ability to perform mathematical computations such as percentages, fractions, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division quickly and accurately
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
  • Ability to set up and operate a variety of machine tools
  • Ability to speak and write English fluently
  • Ability to understand technical operating, service, or repair manuals
  • Ability to use hand or power tools
  • Ability to weld metal parts, components, or structures; able to use TIG welding equipment
  • Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
  • Detail-oriented, professional attitude, reliable, and able to focus on the task at hand
  • Must be able to follow detailed instructions
  • Must be able to work with precision and a high level of accuracy
  • Must be well organized and a self-starter
  • Must have a strong work ethic
  • Must have the ability to identify and solve problems and make logical decisions
  • Possesses strong time management skills
  • Working knowledge of gages such as dial calipers, micrometers, indicators, etc.
  • Must possess or will be required to develop a good understanding of the Tenneco Quality System and TS-16949 and ISO 14001 regulations
  • Good computer skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Work Environment

  • Coordinates with multiple departments and contractors
  • May be on call for emergencies or breakdowns
  • Regular exposure to noisy, hot, or hazardous environments
  • Split time between office work and on-site supervision
  • Works in factories, plants, or commercial buildings
