Job Profile

The company is looking for a Maintenance Technician who will repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment.

Educational Qualification

Work Experience

  • Possess 6 months to 1 year of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
  • Dismantles the devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
  • Examines the form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
  • Initiates purchase orders for parts and machines.
  • Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
  • Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
  • Lubricates and cleans parts.
  • Observes mechanical devices in operation and listen to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
  • Repairs electrical equipment.
  • Repairs or replaces defective parts.
  • Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
  • Starts devices to test their performance.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Preferred knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word using MS Windows platform.

  • Attendance is an essential job requirement defined as having regular, consistent, reliable, punctual, and predictable attendance including the ability to work regular hours and shifts, overtime before and after shifts, and on weekends.
  • Must be available in times of plant-related emergencies.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, including all related departments/plants, or independently as required to achieve internal and external customer satisfaction.

Work Environment

  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
  • Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; risk of electrical shock; and vibration.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually low.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear.
  • Occasionally required to sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must regularly lift or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
