Job Profile
The company is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer who will be responsible for supporting the production process to ensure optimization of cost, quality, and on-time delivery of products.
Education Level
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent work experience (required)
Work Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in a capital equipment manufacturing environment (preferred)
Duties/Responsibilities
- Aids in the creation, review, and approval of engineering packages to be used for welding, machining, or fabrication.
- Design to value: improve new and existing manufacturing drawings for ease of manufacturing and reduction in cost without affecting form, fit, and function.
- Develop standard labor hours and optimization of those hours.
- Documents potential risks or shortfalls in future state processes
- Manages work to ensure that deliverables are met within schedule and budget.
- Participate in the transformation into a data-driven organization.
- Participates in the definition of action plans, training of relevant maintenance and production teams, and other support activities during the internal/external process and equipment start-up.
- Report progress, visibility on loading, and KPI’s.
- Review of new manufacturing drawings for release
- Support Application in cost estimations.
- Support manufacturing “red lines” – incorporate minor manufacturing design change request(s) without disrupting manufacturing operations.
- Support purchasing: prepare the scope of supply, to include instructions and drawings for suppliers.
- Support the aftermarket department with tasks such as finding replacements for obsolete parts, etc.
- Update or emplace manufacturing work instructions plant-wide.
- Other duties as assigned by the Manager/Supervisor.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to translate design intent into efficient processes and tooling while creating readable, detailed drawing packages and manufacturing instructions.
- Able to work overtime as required.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- The ability to safely use basic hand tools, mill or lathe, or welding experience is a plus.
Work Environment
- Exposed to machinery, noise, and moving equipment
- May work extended hours to meet production deadlines
- Splits time between office tasks and the manufacturing floor
- Wears protective gear and follows safety standards
- Works in factories, plants, or production facilities
