Job Profile

The company is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer who will plan, design, implement, modify, and optimize manufacturing processes across production, maintenance, engineering, and sales.

Assist in the Environmental Health and Safety day-to-day activities of the plant.

Education Level

Work Experience

  • At least 2-5 years of design experience in a manufacturing environment
  • PLC/Controls experience (preferred)
  • AutoCad/Solidworks experience

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assist the manager with Environmental, Health, and Safety day-to-day activities.
  • Collaborating with Sales, Application, and Design engineering regarding new product tooling and design to ensure that we develop methods and equipment that support the customers’ requirements and manufacturability in production.
  • Conferring with vendors in determining tooling and equipment specifications and arranging equipment, parts, or material purchases to support product requirements.
  • Creating and maintaining accurate documentation of tooling drawings, equipment requirements, and associated plant layouts.
  • Designing and developing manufacturing processes and tooling/equipment to enhance and modify products.
  • Developing and executing process improvements and capital appropriations that support cost reductions, new product development, and quality and safety improvements.
  • Developing, evaluating, improving, and documenting manufacturing processes. Developing and implementing process control techniques and procedures in manufacturing environments. Analyzing manufacturing process flows continually for the enhancement of quality, cost reduction, and safety. Work closely with the manufacturing department to develop, coordinate, and implement technical training for employees.
  • Helps to coordinate safety meetings, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance, evaluate performance, identify corrective actions, and implement follow-up assessments.
  • Providing support to production colleagues while ensuring all production equipment and tooling are operating correctly. Providing engineering support in the production department to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems.
  • Supporting Sales and Application Engineering by providing time studies and gathering equipment/tooling requirements for new programs and changes to existing programs.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain detail-oriented focus while balancing several simultaneous duties and initiatives.
  • Must be able to independently manage workload and continuously promote a reduced-stress environment.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing initiatives with an emphasis on continuous improvement.

Work Environment

  • Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8–12 hours per shift).
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures (hot, cold, or humid conditions).
  • Adequate hearing (with or without aids) to respond to alarms and verbal instructions in a noisy environment.
  • Climbing:
  • Exposure to noise, dust, odors, and manufacturing chemicals.
  • Frequent use of hands and wrists for repetitive tasks (e.g., assembling, sorting, packaging).
  • Frequent walking throughout the production floor.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and the ability to handle small parts or tools.
  • Occasional use of ladders or steps to reach equipment or storage areas.
  • Occasionally lift heavier items (up to 75 pounds) with assistance or equipment.
  • Regularly lift and carry up to 25–50 pounds.
  • Sufficient vision (with or without correction) to read labels, safety signs, and equipment gauges.
  • Use of manual or mechanical means to push/pull carts, equipment, or materials.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
