Job Profile

The company is hiring a Mechanic who will install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, physical structures, and piping systems of industrial equipment and facility.

Educational Qualification

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED
  • A forklift License is required with renewal every two years
  • Confined space entry certification with recertification every year

Work Experience

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of related experience or training

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Ability to operate an industrial forklift.
  • Ability to read and follow the information on work instructions.
  • Assist with testing and repair of equipment.
  • Assist with the dismantling of machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts as directed.
  • Assist with the facility’s preventive maintenance procedures.
  • Fabricates and repairs counters, benches, partitions, and other wooden structures.
  • Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment, as directed.
  • Must be able to read basic blueprints to install equipment and components.
  • Must be able to work in varying heights up to and including 50 feet.
  • Must be familiar with and provide all types of hand tools as required.
  • Must comply with all company attendance policies and guidelines; this includes but is not limited to, regular attendance and occasional overtime.
  • Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
  • Record data either manually or by a computer as required.
  • Rigs equipment for installation or relocation, as directed.
  • Test malfunctioning equipment and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose the problem and assist with repairs as directed.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
