Job Profile

The company is looking for a Metal Model Maker Journeyperson who will be working under the supervision and must provide a variety of services that support quality pre-production vehicle development and research activities. The services include welding, metal finishing, robotic programming, laser programming, tool build, part fabrication, body-in-white weld tools, and research projects.

Educational Qualification

  • No education level is mentioned, yet having a High School Diploma will be a plus
  • At least 18 years of age

Work Experience

  • Possess work-related experience (preferred, not required)

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Follow established safety procedures according to OSHA standards and company procedures
  • Perform light machining tasks and CNC machining
  • Perform metal finishing
  • Perform spot and MIG welding on aluminum and steel
  • Work with engineers and peers in a team environment
  • Conduct Robotic programming using Fanuc SpotTool with Servo Gun, including the ability to perform functions below-
    -Move a robot in teach mode
    -Create a robot path program
    -Create robot program logic
    -Set up and program a servo gun

Minimum Qualifications

  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Must be able to satisfactorily complete the General Motors hiring process requirements which include comprehensive assessments, hair drug testing, and a background check
  • Must be willing to work flexible shift hours and day, afternoon, or night shifts as well as overtime hours daily, weekends, and holidays on those shifts with little notice.
  • US Department of Labor Completion of Apprenticeship Certificate in Die Maker trade or 6 years of documented experience as a Die Maker (notarized documentation required)
