Job Profile
A company is searching for a Millwright who will be responsible for the assembly, installation, maintenance, and servicing of mechanical equipment with the purpose of supporting the production needs of the company.
The position will report to the Advance Engineering Supervisor for daily direction.
Educational Qualification
- Applicants should be Certified Millwrights with the appropriate papers
Work Experience
- Possess work-related experience (a plus)
Duties/Responsibilities
- Assist other maintenance departments and personnel as required.
- Carry out any preventative maintenance work as required by the company’s preventative maintenance program.
- Communicate fabricated part requirements to engineering and tool room through the use of basic sketches.
- Effect repairs in a timely and efficient manner as required.
- Estimate the time required for each job.
- Evaluate jobs to be done in relation to tools required and the extent of materials needed.
- Liaise with all other departments including production, tool room, engineering, and quality control in the performance of duty.
- Obtain the necessary equipment, tools, and parts required to do the job through various means including the tool crib, tool room, or through special orders.
- Operate the forklift and high lift as required.
- Read and interpret blueprints for equipment and parts.
- Receive instructions relative to priority needs and requirements.
- Responsible for the completion of daily time sheets.
- Through the purchasing department, liaise with outside contractors and suppliers.
- Troubleshoot plc and control program issues and complete basic program adjustments.
- Work is completed through the use of milling machines, drill presses, assorted grinders, lathes, various welders, measuring equipment, and computers.
- Work with all engineering departments on the design, fabrication, installation, and try-out of new and modified equipment.
- Work with other departments in the troubleshooting of equipment and facility concerns.

- Carry out all duties focusing on the goal of internal and external customer satisfaction.
- Comply with defined Business Management and Environmental Management Systems requirements.
- Ensure that all environmental requirements are identified and addressed when performing duties.
- Ensure that all safety requirements are being carried out when performing duties.
- Provide support for the continuous improvement initiatives within Tec form.
- Provide support in the attainment of Tec form’s operating system goals as outlined by the key graphs.
- Other duties, as may be assigned by the supervisor or designate.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to read detailed machine blueprints.
- Ability to work under general direction with independently set objectives.
- Attention to detail is key as the position involves work on equipment that is not easily replaced.
- Basic knowledge of PLC and control programming languages.
- Knowledge of welding principles is an asset.
- Pre-employment training includes the making of general repairs to equipment involving knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
