Job Profile

The company is searching for Millwright to join its maintenance team and participates in team efforts to achieve assigned department goals; work closely with other team members to ensure all maintenance activities are completed on time, according to SOPs and regulatory requirements; and provide support to other roles within the maintenance team.

Educational Qualification

• Applicants must have a valid Red Seal Millwright License – Industrial Millwright 433A

Work Experience

• Possess 2 to 5 years of industrial mechanical experience, preferably in the food industry.

Duties/Responsibilities

Primary Duties-

• Perform maintenance, install, examine, replace or repair components; troubleshoot mechanical systems and building services.
• Provide technical support to production teams in supporting production uptime, ensuring optimal functioning of the production equipment and facilities.
• Provide critical support in reducing production downtime, maintaining overhaul programs, preventive maintenance of equipment, and effective troubleshooting and repair of equipment.

Typical Day Work-

• Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts
• Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment.
• Comply with all applicable legislative and Bakery food safety, health and safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
• Continually improve equipment function via design improvements
• Ensure that the work area is clean of debris and hazards at all times and check the work area for such hazards upon arrival and when departing each area of work
• Extensive mechanical knowledge including power transmission, pneumatics, and hydraulics
• Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions
• Install, troubleshoot and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and programmable logic controls
• Operate machine tools such as lathes and mill machines to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance, or set-up of machinery
• Optimize equipment safety, efficiency and reliability, participating in continuous improvement projects and completing work orders according to PM schedules
• Read blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
• Service, clean, and perform preventative maintenance and overhaul on all production and bakery equipment
• Troubleshooting/repairs/installations of processing equipment with a working knowledge of electrical to allow efficient repair/replacement results
• Work in a safe manner in accordance with legislated and company health and safety standards
• Perform other related duties as assigned or required.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Ability to work in flexible shifts
• Ability to work well within a team and independently
• Comfortable using computers
• Comfortable with occasional heavy lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Problem-solving skills and good communication skills are required.
• Proven track record working with mechanics, machine shop practices, and pneumatic and hydraulic fields (required)
