Job Profile

The company is hiring a Millwright/Maintenance Technician who will work collaboratively with the sawmill.

Education Level

  • High School Diploma (credible)

Work Experience

  • 2 years of recent verifiable related work history or equivalent education
  • Boom truck and crane operation experience (preferred)
  • Industrial mill maintenance experience (a plus)

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assemble, install, and proactively maintain mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment for efficient operation
  • Dismantle machinery and equipment, locate the cause of malfunctioning or mechanical breakdown, replace parts from stock, or fabricate replacement parts as needed
  • Effectively conduct and assess diagnostic tests to ensure optimum system functionality
  • Fabricate machine components for repairs and improvements of mechanical devices
  • Fabricate, weld, mill, and lathe as needed
  • Maintain and repair all mechanical parts and machinery in a manufacturing facility
  • Operate arc welder, cutting torch, hand tools, forklift, and welding truck
  • Perform general maintenance safely and efficiently, and maintain a clean work area
  • Troubleshoot, install, replace, and repair machines and equipment, including mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
  • Work may consist of various shifts and overtime, including weekends and holidays during busy production times

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to recognize, report, and repair mechanical defects
  • Proficient in welding, cutting, and using hand tools for repairs
  • Working knowledge of hydraulics, pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, and bearings

Work Environment

  • Exposed to noise, grease, and machinery
  • May work nights, weekends, or shifts
  • Stands, climbs, and lifts heavy parts
  • Wears protective gear daily
  • Works in factories or industrial settings
