Job Profile

The company (TES Industrial) is seeking a Pipefitter/Steamfitter who will be responsible for installing and maintaining pipes that are designed to carry water, gases, and other liquids.

Also, responsible for ensuring Apprentices are performing duties correctly.

Educational Qualification

  • Journeyman Red Seal Steamfitter-Pipefitter having completed a formal Apprenticeship Program

Other Qualifications-

  • Common Safety Orientation (CSO) from Energy Safety Canada (ESN)
  • CSTS-2020 Fundamentals
  • Valid Confined Space Ticket, (Energy Safety Canada (ESN), formerly OSSA)
  • Valid Fall Protection Ticket, (Energy Safety Canada (ESN), formerly OSSA)
  • Valid H2S Alive
  • Valid Respirator Fit Test

Work Experience

  • Possess work-related experience (preferred)

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Adheres to TES Industrial and Client policies and procedures
  • Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush the system
  • Complete daily paperwork
  • Conduct regular worksite inspections to monitor workmanship and safety compliance
  • Contribute to toolbox meetings
  • Cut openings for pipes in walls, floors, and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations
  • Follow TES Industrial and Client policies and procedures
  • Fusing of HDPE pipe and bonding when working with PVC and CPVC plastic pipe
  • General maintenance work
  • Install supports, valves, piping, and control systems
  • Involved in working with power tools and heavy equipment
  • Join pipe sections, and related equipment and secure in position
  • Layout, assemble, fabricate, maintain and repair pressurized piping systems
  • Lead by example by demonstrating
  • Make detailed sketches and field decisions for pipe and equipment fabrication and installation
  • Managing and performing general housekeeping and daily clean-up of the work area
  • Measure, cut, thread, groove, bend, assemble and install metal, plastic, and fiberglass pipe, valves, and fittings required using hand and power tools
  • Operate radios and other communication equipment
  • Perform other duties as required
  • Proficient in the use of hand tools such as grinders, drills, torches, etc.
  • Provide guidance, direction, and supervision to apprentices
  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine layout requirements
  • Remove and replace worn components and reinstate systems
  • Select the type and size of pipe required
  • Troubleshoot and repair reported problems
  • Use testing equipment to check systems for leaks, hydro, and pneumatic
  • Weld, braze, cement, solder, and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of the piping system

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Demonstrate practical problem-solving ability.
  • Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • A high degree of attention required to prevent injury to self and others
  • Perform heavy maintenance work involving climbing, rigging, and exposure to high-pressure hydraulic and pneumatic systems in accordance with all company safety procedures.
