Job Profile

The company is searching for a Plant Maintenance Person who will repair and maintain quarry processing equipment. The primary responsibilities may include repairs to crushing, screening, conveying, and pumping equipment, as well as performing brazing, welding, arc-welding, and cutting tasks.

Education Level

• High School Diploma (required)

Work Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in a mining or heavy construction environment (required)
• 3-5 years of experience working on equipment maintenance (highly preferred)

Duties/Responsibilities

• Ability to diagnose and adjust equipment for optimum performance
• Ability to perform high levels of maintenance and servicing on a plant with little assistance
• Ability to safely and efficiently operate front-end loader, skid steer, man-lift
• Ability to work in confined and small spaces
• Communicate with plant management on all safety and maintenance needs
• Conduct a complete pre-and post-shift safety inspection
• Inspect, check, and maintain lubrication levels in the equipment used
• Maintain work area in a clean, organized, and safe fashion
• Must have welding and torch skills
• Need to have own tools for repair work
• Observe all safety precautions and rules specified by federal, state, and company regulations
• Report unsafe conditions, accidents, or incidents immediately to the Lead person or Manager

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Ability to troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems and centrifugal/vertical pumps is a plus.
• Knowledge of safety rules and regulations, OSHA and MSHA
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write short messages and conduct one-on-one and small group conversations for information sharing. Primary language – English.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using Imperial units of measure.
• Safety-oriented individual with a good safety record.

Work Environment

• Flexibility with work hours is mandatory.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs., walk, stand, sit, stoop, kneel, crawl, climb, and descend ladders and stairs. Work in cramped confined spaces.
