The company is seeking a Process Mechanic (Tube Bender) who will participate in decisions that affect the team.
Initiate process improvements and implement lean best practices.
Perform sheet metal fabrication, spray painting, welding, chemical processing, plating, and hand/machine sewing.
Education Level
- High School Graduate or GED (preferred)
Work Experience
- 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
- Experience with tubing and ducting manufacturing/installation/maintenance
- Experience working with detailed work instructions or reading and interpreting blueprints and drawings
- Experience operating a CNC machine
- Experience working with Microsoft Office
Duties/Responsibilities
- Assemble a variety of prototype assemblies, ranging from tool fixtures to other assets, with minimal engineering guidance
- Assemble precision assemblies, set up and operate ream fixtures to drill, ream, countersink, spot face, hone, and bore for mating major assemblies.
- Bench assemble electrical or electronic components into assemblies and systems before methods and procedures have been established.
- Composite fabrication, layup, drill, and repair
- Develop, prepare, and maintain all documentation related to the design, fabrication, and manufacturing of engineering test and production tooling and equipment, and associated calibration test and equipment.
- Install several types of fittings, including Wiggins, Dynatube, DME, Gamah, Ringlok, Perma Swage, Cryofit, Sierracin Harrison, and AN.
- Machine new and replacement parts for precision-built tools and machine parts.
- Must be able to read and work from blueprints, visual aids, work instructions, and process specifications.
- Painting, filling/fairing, and special coatings application
- Partner with design to modify and fabricate tools, parts, and build prototype tooling. Periodically inspect tools for repair.
- Perform engineering tests of production parts and equipment in collaboration with mechanical design, industrial engineering, and production operations.
- Perform numerous end form operations, including size, veil, bead, shrink, saddle, flare, expand, and reduce.
- Route and trial-fit tubes on aircraft and mock-ups to determine the size and shape of tubes.
- Set up and run power operated NC-controlled tube benders, inspect, pressure test, clean vapor degreases, swage, square, burr, mark finish trim, cut, identify, mask, cap, preserve, and apply color identification.
- Use a variety of hand tools, power tools, equipment, and measuring instruments, tube benders, coordinate measuring machines, band saws, manual benders, swaging machines, pressure test benches, vapor degreasers, micrometers, protractors, and calipers.

Work Environment
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
