Job Profile
The company is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer who will support, develop and validate products for the Pigging Solutions group by helping to build new and refine existing technologies which deliver unique customer value and sustainable business for TDW. The products include pipeline pigs, pig signaling devices, pig launchers/receivers and quick opening closures.
Education Level
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Work Experience
- 7+ years of engineering experience
- Experience performing calculations for engineering design
- Experience with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
- Experience with a PLM system (TeamCenter preferred)
License/Certification
- Familiarity with ASME B31 pipeline standards and ASME Section VIII-I pressure vessel standards (preferred)
Duties/Responsibilities
- Assist Applications Engineering with aftermarket support of pigging products
- Develop customized product designs for customers (engineer-to-order), line extensions, and improve existing products.
- Document design calculations, tolerance analysis, and concept development or detail design activities.
- Drawing checks and approvals in conjunction with designers and other engineers
- Gain a working knowledge of all aspects of assigned technologies,
- Initiate or facilitate engineering change processes,
- Maintain product drawings and engineering bill of materials
- Oversee validation processes (DFMEA/test plan) for new or custom products, as needed.
- Produce technical deliverables (e.g., 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, test reports, analysis reports, etc.) for manufacturing, project management, Leads, and other necessary parties.
- Support custom products through manufacturing, verification, and validation phases, as needed.
- Support manufacturing by reviewing non-conforming parts, deviations, and first article inspections
- Translate customer requirements, ASME standards, and manufacturing capabilities into product specifications
