Job Profile

The company is looking for a Site Quality Technician who will plan, coordinate, and direct the quality control program designed to ensure continuous production of systems is consistent with established codes and standards.

Education Level

  • High School Diploma (credible)

Work Experience

  • Possess work-related experience (a plus)

License/Certification

  • Must be a certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or an ASNT VT Level II with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Quality and Inspection.
  • Willing to acquire additional certifications as required
  • Have or be able to obtain TWIC/TSA clearance

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assist Construction as needed
  • Assist with package development and system turnover(s)
  • Coordinate NDE vendor activities
  • Create and implement inspection criteria and procedures
  • Formulate and maintain quality control objectives complementary to corporate policies and goals
  • Interpret the quality control process, procedure, and philosophy to key personnel on the project
  • Investigate and adjust customer issues regarding quality
  • Maintain National Standards and provide interpretation of such to the project management team
  • Manages and coordinates the work assignments of Techs
  • Monitor all quality-related activities from pre-mobilization to completion
  • Provide inspection activity for in-place products
  • Represent Bilfinger entities as a principal on-site Quality leader.
  • Support the Bilfinger Quality Manual and related programs
  • Verify the project(s) understand to use of the Bilfinger Quality Manual
  • Works with the Business Line Quality Manager to provide professional development opportunities
  • Supervise the Cost Control and Scheduling Department by completing the following: interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing issues and resolving problems.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to assist with Bilfinger`s ASME/NBIC Code Stamp Program.
  • Ability to drive cars/trucks as needed
  • Ability to use math/complete calculations
  • Climb and maintain balance on steel/wood framework, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds
  • Computer literate with functional knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe
  • Decision-making skills are necessary
  • Detail-oriented; must be able to remember, examine, and observe details.
  • Have or be able to pass Basic Plus or equivalent safety training
  • Hearing and comprehension are necessary for giving and receiving directions
  • Must be able to manipulate and traverse uneven terrain, ladders, and multi-floor buildings with no elevator
  • Must be willing to travel on short but reasonable notice
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively with management/supervision
  • Talking and reading, and writing comprehension are necessary for giving and receiving directions to perform work or safety policy
  • Vision requirements include the ability to pass a Jaeger 1 visual acuity test and a color-blind test
  • Willing to accept short project assignments
  • Work at various tempos, and concentrate amid distractions

Work Environment

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs., but may occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Position may require prolonged bending/twisting, walking, reaching overhead, squatting, sitting, or standing, and lifting
  • Must be able to walk on uneven surfaces, muddy conditions, loose rock, loose/soft sand, etc.
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed
  • Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry, or feel objects frequently
  • Will be exposed to adverse weather conditions (Heat, Cold, Rain, etc.)
  • Will need to perform sedentary to heavy work
  • Will operate inspection hand gauges of all types
  • Will operate office equipment of all types
