Job Profile

The company is looking for a Structural Fitter who will be responsible for the layout, fit, and fabrication of metal components to assemble structural forms using angle iron, I-beams, and plate steel.

Utilize hand tools and welding equipment while following shop details specifications.

Educational Qualification

• Applicants may be required a High School Diploma or Equivalent

Work Experience

• Be a certified welder – AWS D1.1

Duties/Responsibilities

• Aligns parts using jack, turnbuckles, overhead cranes, pins, wedges, and hammer
• Complete all required records
• Cut and wash with a torch (Oxy Fuel or Plasma)
• Identify parts for assembly in the proper order
• Inspect and ensure that completed work conforms to specifications by the company
• May perform repairs for testing if required
• May serve as a problem-solving resource for others
• Measure to specifications
• Operate overhead crane
• Removes high spots using grinders
• Tack weld pieces together
• Read blueprints or other specifications
