The company (Arcosa Marine) is hiring a Welder who will apply appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabricate, and repair parts of metal or other weldable materials according to layouts, work orders, blueprints, schematics, and sketches using manual, auto welding, or semi-automatic welding equipment.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety rules and practices
  • Follow Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS)
  • Inspect your own welds to make sure all Quality requirements are met
  • May be involved in safety committees or initiatives
  • Proficiently perform welding positions like flat (1F), horizontal (2F), vertical (3F), and overhead (4F) fillet welds
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to understand weld size and quality acceptance requirements and criteria
  • May require extensive kneeling, bending, walking, or standing for long periods of time
  • May require working in narrow or confined work spaces for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to climb ladders or stairs to reach objects; comfortable with heights
  • Must be able to perform welding work while wearing all required personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, a filtering facepiece or tight-fitting respirator
  • Must demonstrate the ability to satisfactorily pass vertical fillet (3F) and overhead fillet (4F) weld tests using FCAW
  • Willing to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed
