Job Profile

The company is searching for a Welder (Aluminum) who will be responsible for following daily or weekly work directions from team leads/supervisors, following all safety protocols, and keeping materials flowing in the plant.

The position requires a highly-motivated individual with a good work ethic who is willing to be hands-on and flexible to meet the needs of our customers.

Educational Qualification

  • Applicants may be required a High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be at least 18 years of age

Work Experience

  • Possess an aluminum welding experience
  • Completion of an apprenticeship or certification

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, sketches, work orders, and material safety data sheets to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations
  • Chip or grind off excess weld, slag, or spatter, using hand scrapers or power chippers, portable grinders, or arc-cutting equipment
  • Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind or bolt component parts to obtain the required configurations and positions for welding
  • Cut aluminum extrusions to length as needed using saws
  • Detect faulty operation of equipment or defective materials and notify supervisors
  • Examine workpieces for defects and ensure conformance with specifications
  • Inspect completed work to ensure quality requirements are met
  • Maintain welding equipment
  • Mark or tag material with the proper job number, piece marks, and other identifying marks as required
  • Prepare all material surfaces to be welded in accordance with cleanliness and bevel requirements
  • Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade
  • Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts, using cutting torches, and hand tools
  • Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions utilizing either GMAW or GTAW.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job, including the ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
