Job Profile

The company is hiring a Welder II who will perform difficult and unusual welding operations on a wide variety of mild steel welded assemblies involving complex setups, procedures, and fixtures.

Education Level

• High School Diploma

Work Experience

• 1 year of related experience

Duties/Responsibilities

• Assists in training Welder I team members in proper procedures, techniques, and tool use.
• Inspects weldments for obvious and non-obvious defects such as but not limited to weld spatter, rough welds, missing welds, and sharp corners/edges.
• Performs regular maintenance and minor repairs on welding equipment to ensure proper working order.
• Produces complex welded assemblies to close tolerances where considerable knowledge and skill in the field of welding are required to produce quality results. This may include working with robotic gas welding equipment.
• Sets welding machine voltage and wire speed for proper fusion of metals following standard work methods and detailed drawings.
• Performs other duties as assigned

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Basic reading, writing, and math skills
• Working knowledge of blueprint reading (preferred)
• Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility or location

Work Environmental

• Ability to perform occasional to frequent pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, twisting, crawling, or reaching over a full work shift (8-12 hours)
• Ability to stand or walk constantly over a full work shift (8-12 hours)
• Moderate physical demand; often lifting/moving average weight (25 to 50 lbs.), and occasionally lifting heavy weight materials (up to 70 lbs.)
• Somewhat disagreeable or hazardous conditions.
