Job Profile
The company is seeking an Assembly Welder A to join its team for production/assembly needs.
Educational Qualification
- Applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED
Work Experience
- Possess 4 or more years of experience in compression-related assembly or field environment
Duties/Responsibilities
- Disassembles components to replace defective parts or to prepare them for shipping.
- Effectively follows oral and written instructions and communicates them to others as needed.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all departments and workers.
- Fabricates and installs all types of steel structures such as platforms, stairs, ladders, supports, and braces including beam-type upper structures on compressor skids.
- Operates a variety of portable hand, electric, and air-powered tools such as impact wrenches, torque wrenches, combination wrenches, sockets, ratchets, band saw, and grinders.
- Operates lifting equipment such as overhead cranes and jib cranes which is inclusive of rigging experience.
- Operates stationary tools such as bench grinder, iron worker, drill press, and chop saw.
- Perform job duties in a safe manner and according to company safety procedures.
- Reads measuring devices such as tape measures, rulers, and pressure gauges.
- Reads shop notes, general arrangements, process flow diagrams, and structural drawings.
- Reports potential safety hazards to supervisor
- Reports problems to line supervisor.
- Responsible for overall structural fitting and welding within an assembly team.
- Welds all fabricated structures using one of the following: SMAW or GMAW. (Plate Test required)
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to read tape measures and rulers in increments of 1/16”
- Basic mathematic ability to add and subtract fractions, decimals, and whole numbers.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Must be familiar with Safety and OSHA requirements in general.
- Must have knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the assembly department.
