Job Profile

The company is searching for a Fabrication VDC Coordinator II who will assist in the production of HVAC models and field/shop drawings for a variety of projects.

Populate, coordinate, and produce fabrication content for the building of mechanical and plumbing systems.

Educational Qualification

  • Applicants should require a High School Diploma or GED
  • A Bachelor of Science Degree would be helpful

Work Experience

  • Possess 3 to 5+ years of related experience in Mechanical and Plumbing Trade
  • 1 to 5+ years of experience with Fabrication Revit software
  • 3 to 5+ years of experience with Fabrication MEP software and NAVIS

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Create point layout files for items such as hangers, housekeeping pads, floor sleeves, etc., and to be imported into a layout tool for laying out points in the field.
  • Decision-making that impacts jobs
  • Familiar with reviewing submittal information
  • Generate clash reports
  • Perform clash detections utilizing Navis or BIM 360 glue.
  • Prepare bill of material reports for the field.
  • Prepare Mechanical and Plumbing drawings, which include layouts for ductwork, mechanical piping, plumbing piping, and riser drawings.
  • Produce engineering drawings from sketches, red-line mark-ups, existing drawings, and designer field notes diagrams, details, and schedules.
  • Produce RFI’s pertinent to the coordination process
  • Work with and manage the coordination of subcontracted VDC companies for project coordination.
  • Working in a job site trailer when a project requires

Non-Essential Duties-

  • Assist Project Managers and Foremen with drawing management
  • Communicate with General Contractors and subcontractors to obtain current files
  • Maintain job files, including filing

  • Accurately diagnose and efficiently accomplish work to the mutual benefit of the customer and CES
  • Climb and balance on ladders and stand for long periods of time
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Maintain current knowledge of advances in the field
  • Meet time schedules, and deadlines, and plan and organize work
  • Must not have fear of heights (acrophobia)
  • Perform all duties noted under the conditions, circumstances, and extreme weather conditions found in Florida
  • Repetitive stooping, twisting, turning, stairs possible multiple times per day
  • Use torso and lower extremities required for kneeling, crawling, stooping, twisting, and squatting
  • Use upper extremities required for forward and overhead reaching, pushing, pulling, and material handling
  • Work confidently with discretion, independently, and with little direction
  • Work cooperatively with others using tact, patience, and courtesy
  • Work under frequently changing priorities
  • Work under pressures of time, a non-standard schedule, weather, customer needs, and backlog constraints
  • Proficiency in the following software-
    -Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, AutoCAD MEP, Fabrication CAD MEP, Revit, Navisworks Manage, Autodesk Point Layout, Autodesk BIM360 Glue
    -Autodesk BIM360 Field, & Plangrid are a help but not required

Licenses/Registrations

  • A valid Florida Driver’s License is required.
  • Incumbent must be insurable at all times by the current CES insurance carrier.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to talk, hear and use hands to finger, handle or feel.
  • Frequently required to reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Frequently lift/move up to 60 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Local and occasional out-of-town travel within Florida is required.
